The lantern head is about two and a half inches square and the whole thing stands roughly twelve and a half inches out of the ground. It is a path marker, not a lamp post, and it is worth knowing that before you decide how many you need.

No. Each light is self-contained and solar. There is no cable, no transformer and no outlet involved.
They are accent path lights, not security lights. Bright enough to mark the edge of a walk and show you a step, soft enough that the garden still reads as evening. If you want a floodlight, this is not it.
